Lost the signal
Reaching back into the night
Something stumbled
Trying again
our story
Born from one last party.
Built for every one since.
how it began
It started at a rave in March. James and his partner were about to move to the other side of the world, and the whole group spent the night feeding the photo booth — reel after reel — because nobody wanted to forget it.
So James went looking for one for the leaving party. £150–300 an hour, hours of setup, gear that wouldn't fit through the door. Alex built one instead: a photo booth that ran on everyone's phones, with a laptop in the corner, just for that night.
The room loved it. People kept telling us to make it a business. So we did.
kura
a storehouse — a small, windowless place where the precious things stay safe.
the name
We kept coming back to that word. Kura. It just described what we were trying to build, really.
A vault for the photos that survive the night. At the end of the day, that was kind of all we wanted.
our mission
To give everyone, everywhere, the gift of little memories to keep.

Currently hostages to geography.
the night it started
Alex
Co-Founder
Built the first version overnight for the leaving party, then started developing it into the product. Full-time software engineer for a sustainability startup.
Dances, climbs, learning piano.
James
Co-Founder
Had the idea that this could become something real, then built out the brand around it. Requirements engineer by trade, so nothing ships half-thought-through.
Sings, plays guitar, DJs, games.
as a team
From there, it has been a joint effort: building the product, shaping the business, testing the details, and getting KuraBooth ready for the people and places it was made for.
Founded end of March 2026. Built carefully, tested thoroughly, launching when it's right.
get involved
We are looking to work closely with a small circle of people to form our founding partners group — local businesses, event spaces, organisers, influencers, anyone running a calendar full of events. Local is important to us.
A small circle of people who help spread the word and shape what we build next. In return, we make it worth your while.
